- The Nassau County Village Officials
Association (NCVOA) elected Atlantic Beach Mayor Stephen Mahler as NCVOA
first vice president for 2004-05, at NCVOA'S annual meeting on April 13.
- The NCVOA represents 64 incorporated villages
with more than 430,000 residents and associate members in the cities of
Glen Cove and Long Beach.
- As first vice president, Mayor Mahler will be
responsible for establishing NCVOA policies and directing the
organization's efforts on behalf of village residents throughout Nassau
County.
- "I am honored to be selected by

role," Mahler said. "Village government is the government closest to the
people -- the most efficient and effective vehicle for delivering services
to residents. The NCVOA has played an integral role in advocating for
village residents. I look forward to working with all village officials in
ensuring that we continue to be a strong voice for our residents, both in
Nassau County and the State of New York." |
